Domaine des Forges Savennières Roche aux Moines 2021

Roche aux Moines is a separate appellation inside Savennieres with only 22ha in total in production and only eight producers. Sandstone and Schist as well as Volcanic veins are prevalent. The wine is hand harvested with the utmost care and fermented and aged on its lees in 400 liter barrels 

Domaine des Forges is a historic wine estate situated south of Savennieries in the Val du Layon /Loire Valley that has been in the Branchereau family for five generations. It was founded in 1890 by Pierre Robineau, a grocer and merchant, who bought 2 ha of vineyard called “le Clos des Forges”. The estate now has almost 47 ha of vines, with Chenin Blanc as the main variety.
