Subtle aromas of black cherry, plum & beet root. Rich black fruits and toasted nuts on the palate are laced with salt and restrained spiciness from oak. Clear and persistent on the elegant finish. A very fine expression of Blaufränkisch.
Anita and Hans Nittnaus are committed to crafting wines that faithfully express the origin and terroir of their vineyards. They employ biodynamic farming methods and prioritize practices such as hand-harvesting and spontaneous fermentation, adhering to a minimal intervention approach in winemaking. Their vineyards are located in Burgenland, situated on the northern shore of Lake Neusiedl. The eastern vineyards near Gols feature soils of clay, loam, gravel, and sand, while the western vineyards near Jois in the Leitha mountains are characterized by slate and limestone soils. Specializing in red wines, their primary grape varieties include Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and Merlot. These wines showcase a distinctive Pannonian style, renowned for their elegance, complexity, and ability to age gracefully.
