From the cool Isonzo plains of Friuli, Aur is a golden-hued, late-harvest wine made from hand-selected Gewürztraminer grapes, gently air-dried to concentrate flavour and aroma. The result is a rich, unctuous passito that overflows with notes of dried apricot, spiced peach compote, honey, candied orange peel, and exotic florals. The palate is opulent and sweet, yet lifted by a line of fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively and perfectly balanced. Aged for 12 months in small oak barrels, Aur finishes with length and finesse.
Ronco del Gelso is a family-run estate led by winemaker Giorgio Badin, who has long championed the region’s ability to produce elegant, terroir-driven wines. His attention to detail and gentle winemaking are evident in every bottle, particularly in this beautifully crafted dessert wine.
Perfect with blue cheese, foie gras, stone fruit tarts, or simply as a meditative end to a meal.
