Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy
Smoky, bitter, and beautifully aromatic, Sfumato Rabarbaro is a unique amaro defined by its use of Alpine rhubarb root (rabarbaro) and a distinct smoky character (sfumato meaning “smoky” in Italian). The flavour is deeply earthy, with notes of gentian, charred herbs, and dark citrus peel, carried by a soft wine base.
Produced by the Cappelletti family—herbalists and amaro makers since 1909—this liqueur captures the mysterious, forested essence of northern Italy’s Dolomites.
Enjoy neat, over ice, or as a dramatic twist in a Negroni or spritz. For those who love a deep, smoky bitterness, this is a must.
