With a delicate yet distinct pungency, this wine exudes herbal aromas alongside hints of almond, fresh citrus, and apple, characteristic of the renowned Tocai Friulano style. Its palate boasts richness and ripeness, showcasing pure and clean fruit flavors accented by refined tannins. Crafted from vines that have stood for 70 years, this wine embodies the essence of tradition and quality.
The wines of i Clivi are rooted in the picturesque landscape of Friuli, nestled between the Collio Goriziano and the eastern hills of Udine, known as Colli Orientali. Here, on sunny slopes—clivi meaning "slopes"—they tend to 12 hectares of certified organic vineyards, where indigenous varieties such as Ribolla, Friulano, Verduzzo, and Malvasia thrive alongside the international grape, Merlot. These vineyards, some aged between 60 and 80 years, serve as a cherished heritage, a reminder of the profound responsibility they bear in both safeguarding and crafting wines on this hallowed land. Through their meticulous care and dedication, they honor this legacy, allowing the unique terroir to speak through their wines, which proudly bear two distinct D.O.C. denominations.
