The wine is very clean without oxidization and shows wonderful fruit characteristics. Mandarin, candied Peel, peach confit and freshly roasted hazelnuts on the nose and palate. The residual sugar here is approx 260g . A wine for decades to come. Spent 2 years in Hungarian 300-liter oak.

"The oldest region in the World to have a vineyard classification, dating back to the 1700s, winegrowers today are the keepers of this Culture and Heritage.  It is the single Vineyard wines that create the biggest excitement at the moment. Dry, powerful wines which express the region and their Volcanic soil. The Szepsy Family has been making wine in Tokaj region since at least the late 16th Century and Istvan Szepsy is continuously exploring the potential of the Tokaj region with the help of his sons and daughters . While the sweet wines are and will always be some of the world’s greatest, no one in this day and age can rely on commercial survival with them. The Szepsy vineyards cover just over 56 hectares in the Tokaj wine region around Mád village, but only 50 000 bottles are produced, the rest which doesn't make the cut is sold in Bulk . Many of their vineyards are high altitude, located on steep stony slopes. Everything from its rich volcanic soils to the unique Microclimate and the famous Furmint grape contributes to the fascinating end Product.Enormous sacrifices are made in the vineyards in pursuit of producing the best grape quality possible from each site, with three green harvests as well as cutting off the wings of individual bunches. No chemical fertilizers have been used in the vineyards."
