Gembrook Hill was founded in 1983 by Ian and June Marks, pioneers of the southern Yarra Valley. Their estate sits on elevated, granitic soils near Gembrook township — one of the coolest sites in the region. Today, winemaking is led by Mel Chester, with input from Timo Mayer, maintaining the house style: elegant, minimal intervention wines that reflect the season and site.
