The nose offers a fine and aromatic blend of citrus, soft orchard fruit, and chalky minerals. On the palate, it is fresh and bright, showcasing lovely fruit intensity and length. Despite the very dry and warm conditions of the 2022 vintage, with high temperatures from May to September, the wines surprisingly maintain good acidity and vibrancy.

Nestled in the enchanting village of Laserna-Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa, lies the Villota estate, a family legacy since 1930. Now lovingly tended by Carmen Pérez-Garrigues and her father Ricardo Pérez-Villota, this vineyard, rooted in history, broke free in 2013 to pursue the art of crafting premium wines. Rioja Alavesa, kissed by the cooling breezes of the Atlantic and cradled by the majestic Cantabrian mountains, mirrors the finest qualities of Rioja Alta. Here, on soils of calcareous and ferrous clay, their vines flourish, dry-farmed and bush-trained, nurtured with a passion for purity, untouched by chemicals, embodying the soul of tradition and excellence.
