Spicy-piquant wine with a breath of white pepper. Blaufränkisch vom Lehm is blessed with the perfect foundation consisting of heavy loam soil with a high clay content. It is traditionally aged in big wooden barrel.
"1719 the Gesellmann Estate was mentioned in official documents for the first time. Ever since, many generations have ensured that the knowledge gathered would no be forgotten, but newly defined for modern times. A milestone in the family history - and at the same time, in the history of viniculture in the Burgenland - was achieved by Engelbert Gesellmann in the 1980s, when he planted international grape varieties and matured them in French barrique casks. Today the results of this pioneering effort are deep-red icons: Opus Eximium (since 1988) and Bela Rex (since 1992)."
